The Verge: Barack Obama tweets his Spotify playlist
February 9, 2012
That headline says a lot about the candidates in my opinion.
Regardless of what you think of President Barack Obama or the otehr candidates, you have to admit that he is really surging ahead when it comes to connecting to you on a technology level.
So the President decided to not only share his Spotify playlist but he tweeted it nonetheless and with over 12 million followers, talk about reaching the masses.

Spotify is a free program (or you can pay $10 to be able to stream anywhere) that anyone can use to listen to whatever music they have available. You can share music, make playlists, listen to new releases on your laptop for free. A very cool concept that is really taking off.
I kind of laughed when I saw his playlist, here is a screenshot I took of it:
What made me chuckle is the huge variety of artists and genres he had, a little for everyone. Like R&B? How about some Raphael Saadiq? Never heard of him? How about some classic Bruce Springsteen and James Taylor. Still not a fan? Well here’s some Arcade Fire and Sugarland. Something for everyone.
You have to admit this is great campaigning. Not only is he (his team) sharing a playlist but he is using a new free program that anyone can use and anyone can access his playlist.
Now I’m not so sure that the POTUS actually listens to all of this, but it still looks really good to the younger crowd.
